The spraygrounds at Beckley Creek Park and Broad Run Park are turned on, open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and completely free to enter!

For one night only Friday at Floyds will be returning to The Parklands!

The Eastwood Village Council Farmer’s Market will be held in The Parklands every Saturday through September. The market is located at the North Beckley Paddling Access parking lot in Beckley Creek Park and is free and open to the public!

Wednesday Wonders & Wee Wednesday Wonders*

Wednesday Wonders are interactive programs designed to spark the curiosity of young children. Each week, we'll explore a new science wonder with a story, craft, hike, or related science experiment.

Wednesday Wonders (recommended ages 5-9):

10:30 – 11:30 a.m. at Ben Stout House in Turkey Run Park

Wee Wednesday Wonders (recommended ages 2-5):

2:30-3:30 p.m. at PNC Achievement Center in Beckley Creek Park

Storytime in Storybook Forest

Every Thursday

2:30 p.m.

Meet at Marshall Playground, Beckley Creek Park

Get lost in a story with us every Thursday at 2:30 p.m. in the enchanting Storybook Forest! In this family-style program, children and their parent or guardian will join us for a short 5-minute hike on the Osage Orange trail to the Storybook Forest where they will settle in for a book read by one of our Interpretive Rangers. Each week will feature a different book chosen by a local librarian while the sounds and smells of the forest will bring the stories to life!

If weather does not permit us to be outside, Storytime will be held inside the PNC Achievement Center across from the playground. This event is free and open to all. Registration is not required.

Outdoor Escape Games

Legend at Pope Lick Adventure Outpost, Pope Lick Park

New for 2022! Outdoor Escape Games, presented by Legend at Pope Lick, will be taking place at Pope Lick Park every Saturday and Sunday. It’s an adventure for the entire family! Games last up to 2 hours and will involve park exploration, augmented reality, scavenger hunting, and puzzle-solving.

The Parklands Walking Club – Paw Paw & Hickory Trail

July 16, 2022

8:30 - 11 a.m.

Meet at Brown Forman Silo Center, Turkey Run Park

This monthly morning walking club will meet and trek all over The Parklands exploring our 60+ miles of trails and nearly 4,000 acres. Each ranger-led hike will walk at a relaxed pace to encourage conversation while sipping our morning coffee. Bring a friend or come solo and join The Parklands community!

July 16 – Paw Paw and Hickory Trail

Dirt Surface, 3 miles round-trip

Meet at Brown Forman Silo Center, Turkey Run Park

Hikes meet at the designated location at 8:30 a.m. where one of our Interpretive Rangers will be waiting with coffee. Hikes begin at 8:45 a.m.

Event is open to all and registration is not required.

Parklands Volunteer Orientation

Do you love The Parklands and want to give back? Join us as a volunteer! Parklands volunteers work across departments and help with every facet of park operation from invasive species removal to assisting with summer camp programs. To become a Parklands Volunteer, join us for new volunteer orientation at 5:30 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month at the PNC Achievement Center.
